To the concerned co-workers of KPFA:
My reasons for running for the Local Station Board are varied,
however, I would like start by seeing that the Hip Hop generation
and its perspective be included in the decision-making process. I am
also female, African-American and a native of the Bay Area, which
gives me another list of communities that I would like to see fully
represented at KPFA. I am a writer, editor, producer and
Apprenticeship graduate. I am a member of UPSO. I have been
involved in grassroots, community organizing within the Bay Area
for the last 10 years. I can say that I have been present to see the
many challenges and struggles of KPFA. I have seen many changes
and many transformations and we are still here, listener-sponsored
and community-represented since 1949...and in 2007 the struggle
continues, equally inside and outside of these walls.
