This is supported by 911 Truth books and DVDs providing about 1/3 of station income during fundraisers for many years, even while an entrenched faction of public affairs programmers sought to discredit this issue and its proponents, and generally exclude it from on-air programming. Once dismissed as a “conspiracy theory,” this issue electrifies listeners and draws them like a magnet to the station. KPFK wants to raise money? Walk your talk, give them truth, and the money will flow in the direction of integrity.

This year I have served as a volunteer on the Program Oversight Committee and advanced issues of listener/sponsor input, democratic governance, and 911 Truth programming. In these areas I have sought consensus, avoided confrontation, gained support, and produced positive results moving these issues forward. If elected this time, I will volunteer for the Personnel committee to be part of selecting the new KPFK General Manager. This is to insure that the new General Manager will support 911 Truth programming at KPFK, not the entrenched faction opposed.

I have proposed a program for the Sunday Morning public affairs block called “Counter Intelligence Digest,” a window into conspiracies, conspiracy theories, and the hidden mechanics of Empire. It is offered as an on-air University on 911 and related national security issues, and will follow the long form. It will give voice to the physicists, engineers, historians, military and intelligence professionals, eyewitnesses, survivors, and family members that form the moral and intellectual core of the 911 Truth movement. I have offered to volunteer for two years as host to get it established.

This coming year I will propose “Pacific Rim” a bilingual English- Mandarin news, music, culture and language learning program for the third most widely spoken language in our signal area. This is also important because audio streaming over the internet can offer listeners in China, 200 million connected at any given time, many of whom speak some degree of English, access to KPFK and to news and opinions not available in China’s highly censored and controlled information environment, like ours, only worse.

I have been a listener/sponsor of KPFK for over 20 years. Much of my political education before 911 came from KPFK. My political work began in University as an anti-Vietnam war activist and cofounder of the Northwest Passage, part of the Underground Newspaper movement, in the late 60s and early 70s. My efforts to keep KPFK on a true path are a continuation of a lifetime’s work. It is my time to give back in service.
