Kahllid Abdul Al-Alim Candidate Statement

Over the last seven years I have been privileged to work with some of the most politically astute teachers, parents, and students throughout the city. I'm proud to have been a part of some tremendous victories, demonstrations and rallies for true social justice.

I have also served as the Youth Representative for the Park Mesa Heights Community Council. Serving the Hyde Park, Angeles Mesa, and View Heights area.

This has been a real challenge due to the gang violence, police suppression/brutality, and lack of genuine Economic and Community Redevelopment. By Consensus driven policy making, Stakeholder views have now started to manifest themselves in projects beneficial throughout the communities.

I have been a listener of KPFK for over 8 years. I want to be involved in assisting the direction of how the programming impacts but most importantly, moves the listeners to action.

I know and have worked with some of the progressive individuals who served and who are now candidates. I too, believe that this will be the moment that sets KPFK above all others, by instilling one central theme...........ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!
